Kaiser S1

Ganter undertook all interior fit out work on the Kaiser S1 branch in Freiburg’s historic city centre already in 2009. Men with a fashion sense can find international labels and popular designer collections throughout the store’s 900 m2 of sales floor. Ganter and Blocher Blocher Partners’ makeover in 2015 shows an entirely new side of Kaiser S1 that is inspired by urban modernism, art and timeless architecture. The interior combines a raw, industrial style with Belle Époque sensibilities and clear lines over an ornamental pattern to create an unmistakable mixture. Its relaxed atmosphere is created by drystone walls, ample steel and light, select vintage furniture and carefully placed detailing. This makes the perfect backdrop for progressive men’s fashion from around the world. A special highlight is the connection system made from water line couplings, which were mounted on furniture and shelves and nitrocarburised on the surface using a special QPQ process. This creates a patina appearance to ideally complement the store’s vintage concept. With the goal of bringing out the space’s factory character, the once glossy walls were distressed using a special buffing method and an appearance of rust and old wood was created. In close, intensive communication with Kaiser, Ganter succeeded in achieving the desired raw yet elegant look for the male audience.
